THE RESORT
LOCATION
Located at one of the most southern points of Cat Island, Greenwood Beach Resort is perfect for those in search of adventure! With over 8 miles of deserted beach to enjoy (side note: the traditional Bahamian "white" sand beaches are actually a rare shade of pink here!), this intimate resort provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a variety of fun activities including kiteboarding, as well as hiking and diving excursions. THE ACTIVITIES
I decided to go snorkeling myself, for which the resort's lovely instructor Antoine took me to a nearby bay by boat, where we enjoyed the beauty of Bahamian ocean life (we even got to see a baby mantra!), before heading back to Greenwood, where he handpicked a coconut (yes, he climbed a tree himself to get it), after which he opened it with a machete.
FOOD & ACCOMMODATION
The Resort itself offers 16 colorful cottages that provide a heaven of tranquility to its guests, and are all complete with beautiful views on the palmtree-clad scenery. Enjoy the local food (especially the conk salad), and sip on a cocktail while watching the breathtaking sunset on their ocean-view terrace, or hang out by their sea-side pool!
THE INSPIRATION
The Bahamian palette is simply breathtaking, and I could not get enough of the gorgeous palmtrees. So I made sure to find a little spot near the ocean where I could enjoy theses magnificent trees and sketch them at sunset.
